This week is Cook Island language week. Allessandra taught Room 5 the Sign of Cross in the Cook Island language and she also taught our class a song called My God Loves Me. In the Cook Island's they speak Cook Island Maori and English. The currency they use is the Cook Island dollar and the New Zealand dollar.
We also spent time reading some Cook Island Myths.
On Wednesday Room 5 did a science experiment. We had circle ice which was created with balloons. Then we put the dye on the ice then we put salt on it. We had to write down what we noticed and some questions we had. In the end, we threw the ice up.
Last week we did egg sitting. The whole point of this was to look after and keep the egg safe. Mrs Drummond wanted us to realise how hard keeping after a child is. My egg's name was Archie. My egg stayed alive for the whole week!
In Room 5 we did acrostic poems about mythical creatures. Here is mine.

In Room 5 we did Maori art. We had to pick a drawing from Peter Gossage. I picked the moon. We used pastels and then dye for the background. Here is mine.
Today Room 5 did a really cool water cycle experiment. We did some of the experiment on Friday and finished the rest of the experiment on Monday. My buddy on Friday was Ella. but on Monday Ella wasn't here so l did it with Meredith. We had to make a water filter. Our water filter had paper towels and cotton balls. Then we put dirty water on top of our water filter. Our water came out pretty clean but didn't win the prize. Here is our water filter.
This week is Book Week.
That means we get to buy new books, rubbers, bookmarks and other things. I went as Cindy Lou Who and Ruby went as the Grinch. On Tuesday I went to the library with my mum to get some books. I got 2 dairies, 4 bookmarks and 4 books. I loved seeing everyone's costume and I can't wait to go next year.
