The Sun Poem

The sun is a light bulb helping me see.
It is a candle lighting up the sky.

The sun is a heatwave melting God's people
it is a fireball making me blind.

The sun is hot lava burning the world.
It is a disco ball shimmering everywhere.

My buddy on Friday was Ella. but on Monday Ella wasn't here so l did it with Meredith.  We had to make a water filter. Our water filter had paper towels and cotton balls. Then we put dirty water on top of our water filter. Our water came out pretty clean but didn't win the prize. Here is our water filter.

Lent

My class did a Lenten promise. My one says I'm going to give up candy and chocolate. It is hard to give up candy and chocolate because I love them and it's so yummy. The Lenten promise ends at Easter and that's when we can eat all the candy and chocolate again.

Today we did a mantra. Everyone did a different one. My one looks like this. My one says "Let your smile change the world but don't let the world change your smile." We did a mantra to remind people that their day won't be a total disaster and that they won't have a rain cloud on top of them and that everything you love will come alive in your imagination.

Shrove Tuesday

Today is Shrove Tuesday. This morning we saw Father Bernard burn the palms from last year's Palm Sunday to become the ashes for Ash Wednesday.
After lunch Room 5 went to Room 1 to make pancakes. They were amazing. We made pancakes because in the olden days the ingredients would go rotten during Lent so they had to be used up.

A POEM

At home, I wrote a poem, and I would like to share it.

I went to the beach it smelt like a peach.
When i got home i found a big stone I
t was shaped as a love heart.
But it smelt like a dove fart.
I sat down and ate a tart
when i finished my tart i threw a dart.
Then i went up the stairs and found lots of bears.

Hello! This week was the best first week ever!
We have done some Waitangi art and made some puzzle pieces to show we are all part of Room 5. My favourite part was the Maori art for Waitangi Day. We also went swimming and the leader ship assembly, naming books and learning new games.
