In Room 5 we did Maori art. We had to pick a drawing from Peter Gossage. I picked the moon. We used pastels and then dye for the background. Here is mine.
Today Room 5 did a really cool water cycle experiment. We did some of the experiment on Friday and finished the rest of the experiment on Monday. My buddy on Friday was Ella. but on Monday Ella wasn't here so l did it with Meredith. We had to make a water filter. Our water filter had paper towels and cotton balls. Then we put dirty water on top of our water filter. Our water came out pretty clean but didn't win the prize. Here is our water filter.
This week is Book Week.
That means we get to buy new books, rubbers, bookmarks and other things. I went as Cindy Lou Who and Ruby went as the Grinch. On Tuesday I went to the library with my mum to get some books. I got 2 dairies, 4 bookmarks and 4 books. I loved seeing everyone's costume and I can't wait to go next year.
In Room 5 we studied a country. We could choose any country. I studied Brazil. We had to find out about their traditional clothes, food and sports. Did you know that Brazil has 212,392,717 people?! Here is mine.
Last week we did Anzac art. This is how we did it so first we coloured in an Anzac picture. Mine was a cross with cool things like flowers. Then we got some paper and glued it on. Then we dyed some paper. The colours were green, pink, purple, yellow and blue. All of Room 5 took their Anzac art to assembly and everyone.
For Anzac this week, we did Anzac pamphlets. I did my pamphlet with my friend Ella. ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. Our pamphlet is on New Zealand peace celebration badge.
When we finished we made pockets for our pamphlets and put the pamphlets on the wall next to the writing wall and on the reading everyone's pockets were red. This is how they turned out.
